Misty's Holiday Gift Guide - Volume 1

With the holidays approaching and the online holiday shopping season kicking into full swing, I thought it was the perfect time to share some of my favorite handmade shops and items in the hopes that no matter who you're shopping for, you can find something great for them!

I'll be breaking the gift guide up into several volumes or series.  From jewelry to candles to baby items to gifts for Fido, you'll find it here.  I'm only featuring items and shops that I have personally bought from or have on my own list to try.  Pfft...like I'd suggest anything but the best to you...

So without further ado, I give you Volume 1 of Misty's Holiday Gift Guide!

CANDLES - BATH & BEAUTY

Auntie Di's is your one-stop shop for all of your smell good needs.  Candles and tarts galore, what chick on your list wouldn't want some of these?  Here are a few of my favorite things...

Pink Sugar Type Soy Wax Candle 16 oz Jar - $14.00

Vanilla Bean Noel Snowflake Soy Blend Tart Melts - $5.50
Christmas Hearth Soy Wax Candle 8 oz - $8.00

You're probably wondering why on earth a soapmaker is featuring another soapmaker, aren't you?  The answer is simple.  I love soap and I love buying soap from other shops.  Soap makes me happy.  You know how some people buy shoes?  Yep, I buy soap.  And when it comes to cold process soaps, Amanda and Joe from Long Winter Farm Soap Co know their shi--I mean, stuff.  I almost always have a bar of LWF in my shower.

Campfire Vegan Cold Process Soap - $6.00
Pink Peppermint Goat Milk Cold Process Soap - $6.00
Pineapple Cilantro Vegan Cold Process Soap - $6.00

 JEWELRY

Celia over at Gliz Glitter has to be one of the sweetest people and her jewelry really speaks for itself.  I love that every piece is beautiful while retaining a simplistic elegance.

Clockwork - Silver Pendulum Oxidized Sterling Silver Hoop Earrings - $28.00
Pink With A Vengeance - Ruby Swarovski Crystal Briolette Oxidized Sterling Silver Necklace - $32.00

Solstice - Citrine Gemstone Coin Oxidized Sterling Silver Wire Wrapped Bracelet - $76.00

Drea at Faeried Treasures is so much fun, I adore her.  Her storybook and fairy tale inspired jewelry is as whimsical as it is lovely.

A Drop In The Ocean - Petite Teardrop Vintage Glass Jewel Earrings - $15.00
A Flower Is Born To Blush - Bridal Freshwater Pearl and Vintage Glass Flower Necklace - $95.00
Like Apples In Eden - Sway Earrings - $25.00

Sarah and I have been online buddies for a few years now and I love her to pieces.  And speaking of pieces, I'm the proud owner of several of hers!  Her sea glass and wire-wrapped jewelry is one of a kind and I get complimented every single time I wear one of her necklaces!

Atlantis Found Necklace no. 136 - $40.00
Passage Necklace no. 238 Skeleton Key - $45.00
A Nest Adorned Necklace - $35.00

That's it for Volume 1 of Misty's Holiday Gift Guide.  Stay tuned for Volume 2!

Lost Things Found

In my time on Etsy, I have come across so many talented individuals.  I'm constantly amazed by the creativity I see.  When I came across Sojourncuriosities in Etsy chat, I was floored.  I had never seen such gorgeous items and attention to detail...I knew I had to own some of her work.

Not only is her work out of this world, but Sarah (the face behind the name) undeniably talented, she's one of the sweetest and sassiest people I know and has quickly become a friend.  Her work centers around historic hardware, vintage buttons, genuine sea glass, and found natural materials, such as shells and stones and is inspired by nature and history, folklore and fantasy.

She takes objects many of us wouldn't normally look twice at, and turns them into treasures worthy of fairy tales.  From amazing sea glass and pottery collected by herself near her coastal Maine home, to gorgeous vintage skeleton keys, hand-wrapped with wire and beautiful glass beads, everything she touches turns out breathtakingly beautiful.

At the moment, I'm the proud owner of two of her pieces...one gorgeous skeleton key that was a birthday gift to myself last year, and one stunning sea glass pendant (shown above) that I bought a few months ago as a celebratory gift for hitting 100 sales in my shop :)  I can honestly tell you, I wear then all the time and each time I do, I get complimented on them...they are just stunning!

Take a few minutes to browse her Etsy Shop, you won't be disappointed!  You can also find her here on Blogger and on Facebook and Twitter!
