Lost Things Found

In my time on Etsy, I have come across so many talented individuals.  I'm constantly amazed by the creativity I see.  When I came across Sojourncuriosities in Etsy chat, I was floored.  I had never seen such gorgeous items and attention to detail...I knew I had to own some of her work.

 Relics of hearth and home from days gone by, tinged with half-forgotten memories, and half-remembered dreams. Maine sea china, collected by me- white with beautiful green floral pattern on ivory, adorned with glass beads and bound in hand sculpted rose gold hued artistic wire.

Not only is her work out of this world, but Sarah (the face behind the name) undeniably talented, she's one of the sweetest and sassiest people I know and has quickly become a friend.  Her work centers around historic hardware, vintage buttons, genuine sea glass, and found natural materials, such as shells and stones and is inspired by nature and history, folklore and fantasy.

"Of transformation, unseen relics, and half-dreamed memories." Antique skeleton key, bound with hand sculpted oxidized silver artistic wire, adorned with glass beads in hues of pink and cream.

She takes objects many of us wouldn't normally look twice at, and turns them into treasures worthy of fairy tales.  From amazing sea glass and pottery collected by herself near her coastal Maine home, to gorgeous vintage skeleton keys, hand-wrapped with wire and beautiful glass beads, everything she touches turns out breathtakingly beautiful.

At the moment, I'm the proud owner of two of her pieces...one gorgeous skeleton key that was a birthday gift to myself last year, and one stunning sea glass pendant (shown above) that I bought a few months ago as a celebratory gift for hitting 100 sales in my shop :)  I can honestly tell you, I wear then all the time and each time I do, I get complimented on them...they are just stunning!

Artisans Gallery Team

I was recently asked to join the newly formed Artisans Gallery Etsy Team, and I can't tell you how honored I am to have been included with some of the most talented artisans and crafters on Etsy!  So what exactly is the Artisans Gallery Team?  Here's a little explanation:

Orgasm, anyone?

So, Diann from AuntieDis and I are two peas in a pod.  Or as Forest put it, we're like peas and carrots.  We like the same music, have the same warped sense of humor, and even have pet names for each other.  I won't post them here because they aren't PG-13, but that's beside the point.  The most important thing we have in common is our love for Pink Sugar aka My Precioussssssssss!  Yep.  I said My Precioussssssssss.  I even have a pet name for my favorite scent ever and I can't help it if it's creepy LOTR Gollum-like.  It's true!

Recently, during one of our daily Yahoo IM chatting sessions, the idea of an Etsy collaboration came up.  It went a little bit like this:

Diann:  "What are we doing tonight, Misty?"
Misty:  "Same thing we do every night, Diann.  Try to take over the world!"
Diann:  "With candles, soap and body goodies, oh my?"
Misty:  "And My Precioussssssssssss...."

And so, born from that conversation, our love of Pink Sugar, too much LOTR, and our need to take over the world, is our very first collaboration that is sure make your senses orgasm!

That Hooker!

Rose over at 2kutekreations is a bone fide hooker.  No, really...she is!  Her craft is crocheting and that girl hooks like nobody's business! 

 
From baby blankets, hats, and booties, to adorable little appliques (great for your crafting projects!), to wash clothes, reusable cotton face scrubbies and soap savers...heck, even cute hats for us grown-ups...she's got what you need in the world of crochet!  My niece sleeps with a 2kute blanky and proudly wears a 2kute hat!

As a soaper, I gotta tell you, her Soap Savers are where it's at!  Stick your whole bar or your soap slivers and scraps in that sucker and use it in place of a wash clothe or bath poof. 

Not only is she a fabulous hooker (does this make me her pimp?!) she is as sweet and sassy as can be!  The woman goes above and beyond in the name of quality and customer service...trust me, I know...I'm a loyal customer!  In fact, some of you may have received some of her cotton face scrubbies in your package if you've ordered from me...and if not, keep an eye out in the future, because they will be included in some of my baskets and sets!

Now lets end this post with a picture of yours truly and my very favorite 2kute item ever.  I wear this bad boy EVERYDAY and LOVE it.  This is a custom order she made for me.  In the same style as her Adult Pink Camo Hat, but in sleek and stylish black.
